Translucent ivory.
Porcelain is made by heating kaolin clays to very high temperatures. China invented porcelain and was the only source in the world until the 17th century when Bottger discovered a workable porcelain in Meissen. The material has surprising strength despite its fragile appearance. LAMONT vases and bowls are made in either un-glazed form creating a beautiful matt surface or finished with high gloss glazes in pale eggshell tones. LAMONT's bowls with translucent walls seem to emanate light.

Rare and beautiful materials are sourced from Southeast Asia, Europe, India and China. We choose materials with understated elegance and rich crafts traditions.
